On September 5, the 2023 Aviation Digital Interconnection Technology Conference was successfully held in Haikou City, Hainan Province, where more than 200 representatives from the Civil Aviation Administration of China, domestic and foreign airlines, and technology suppliers gathered together to explore the development direction of aircraft interconnection and digital transformation of civil aviation, and seek a path of high-quality development of the civil aviation industry.


 

As a third-party testing organization, Radio and Television Metrology was invited to participate in this event. Chen Qi, deputy general manager of radio and television metrology and technical expert of product testing and certification, delivered a keynote speech on "Fault Tolerance Verification of PED by Modified Aircraft".

1. Focus on smart civil aviation and discuss the new direction of civil aviation development

During the "14th Five-Year Plan" period with the construction of smart civil aviation as the main line, the Civil Aviation Administration of China proposed to accelerate the expansion of civil aviation applications of 5G, big data, blockchain, artificial intelligence, Beidou system and other technologies, promote the application of a new generation of aviation broadband communication, and promote the digital transformation of the civil aviation industry. With the theme of "Digital Empowerment, Interconnection and Upgrade", this conference will focus on cutting-edge technologies and directions such as satellite interconnection, ATG air-ground interconnection, digital management of the whole process of operation and control, extended application of the front cabin, and Internet access of the rear cabin, so as to improve the safety, operation efficiency and production organization capacity of aircraft, and promote the construction of a smart civil aviation transportation system.
 

Second, based on third-party testing, to help improve the quality of the aviation industry

With the application of the new generation of aviation broadband communication technology, high-altitude Internet access has become a reality, and the use of WiFi networks and electronic devices on aircraft will become more and more common. Safety is the top priority of civil aviation, and the modification of aircraft cabin network equipment needs to meet the requirements of civil aviation regulations and pass strict airworthiness certification.

In view of the problem that the radio frequency generated by portable electronic devices (referred to as PED, including mobile phones, laptops, electronic luggage tags, etc.) may interfere with the electronic and electrical systems of the aircraft, Chen Qi made a keynote speech on "Fault Tolerance Verification of PED by Modified Aircraft", introduced the test methods and evaluation methods of the electromagnetic environment tolerance ability of the aircraft PED, interpreted the different types and characteristics of PED interference, and analyzed the test methods, test scope, and Actual test cases and experience bring in-depth analysis from multiple perspectives to help improve the airworthiness and reliability of China's civil aviation products.
